United Revolutionary People’s Council, Nepal

Central Adhoc Committee

Press Statement

The incident that the reactionary regime of India has arrested the Central Committee members of the United Revolutionary People’s Council comrade Kumar Dahal and Hitbahadur Tamang, the Central Committee Members of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) comrade Kulaprasad KC, Comrade Lokendra Bista and Comrade Anil Sharma, the General Secretary of All Nepal Peasant Organisation (Revolutionary), Comrade Chitra Bahadur Shrestha and other leaders and cadres on 20 Jest of 2061 (2 June 2004) has made all the democratic, leftist and patriotic Nepalese stunned and infuriated. Unless the Indo-Nepal opened borders remain due to various treaties and understandings made by the reactionary ruling classes of the both countries, the immigration of the citizens of the both countries is a normal phenomenon. But cowardly arrest of the leaders and the cadres of the Nepalese Democratic movements, who reached in Patna of India for their treatment and journey, as per this system has once again exposed the secret of the long standing unholy ties between the reactionaries of both countries. The happening of this incident following the arrest of Comrade Matrika Prasad Yadav and Suresh Ale Magar, the Central Committee members of the URPC and extradited them in the hands of the Royal gendarmes of Nepal few months ago, has indicated that anti-people ties between the reactionaries of both countries has been tightening. The URPC Nepal denounces this cowardly act of the Indian regime and urges an immediate and unconditional release of all members. And, further urges the Indian state to respect them as per international charters and treaties as the representatives of the parallel government, as the members of the URPC, which is advancing towards a revolutionary government attaining the sympathy of millions of Nepalese people.
