THE COMING WAR ON IRAQ IS

ILLOGICAL AND PREDATORY

The US has been busy in putting the Iraqi people, and other oppressed peoples around the world, to death and destruction. It has acted as an executioner of the rulers of the third world, killing and deposing many through overt and covert operations. The guillotine man of the imperialist world keeps ready to kill and annihilate. It kills not only the individuals but also the independence and sovereignty of the countries. It conspires against and kills revolutions and liberation movements of nations. Since the times of Vietnam War of Liberation, it has remained the most hated enemy of the people around the world.

— Mukesh

The US does not need an alibi to justify its current aggressiveness and war upon the poor countries of the world. Excuses come in handy when one is out to trample the week and the gullible.

Had there been no September 11 something else would have been taken up to ride on the war juggernaut. The situation was already ripe for that.

With no rivals to challenge and the economy in long recession and a worldwide slump, what else would come to the rescue if not the advantages of war. War is a means to secure the world market and push out the contending and potential rivals, and this means has been adopted from colonial times to the present ones.

The US had long term plans to secure Afghanistan due to its strategic position in Central Asia, 9/11 and al-Qaeda only became a pretext. The US central command had long been entrusted the task of establishing a strong foothold in Central Asia.

If diplomacy, gifts, persuasion and ‘friendship’ do not pay, build any case against the target and launch the aggression! Anything can do from Human Rights to Democracy to the Plight of the Women to Child Labour to missiles and nuclear program.

If these things do not serve the said purpose just say that there is famine and we have to distribute rice and cereals to the starving [as was in the case of Somalia] and, send in marines. If even famine is not there rake up the issue that the UN resolutions are not being implemented, or the US national interests are involved, or threatened in a land lying ten thousand kilometers away, so to safeguard these interests it is necessary to attack and mutilate. Everything helps.

The imperialist logic can find a lamb muddying the water anywhere downstream, which ‘prevents’ it from having a clean slurp upstream. Anything goes.

The Petro-gold Dazzles the US

Come to the Middle East and you see perfidy and open gangster logic stomping out every bit of reason and even an alibi is not required to pounce upon the target. The flowing petro-gold dazzles and fascinates so much that plain robbery turns into open plunder, exacted through the power of most sophisticated armoury, bloodthirstiness and pulverisation.

Here the most vicious of the imperialist attack dogs is at work to frighten and terrorise the surrounding countries and their populations. The people in Palestine are being crushed under the iron chains of tanks or being rained with fire and gasoline from the skies. The people of other countries are being tightly controlled through tyrants and lackeys.

The deserts and pastures surrounding the Persian Gulf and along the southern flank of the Mediterranean, and the very seas, gush out rivers of petroleum which is the lifeline of any modern economy. It makes the most modern ones, i.e., the imperialist and capitalist economies, to scramble for this life-blood. And this life-blood has become a stream of death for the hundreds of millions of poor inhabitants of these regions.

Neither the governments nor people are secure around this oil rich region. Palestinians are branded as terrorists. Iraq and Iran are declared a part of the "axis of evil." Syria and Libya are declared "rogue" states. Lebanon is partitioned among many of the pro-Zionist and ruling class reactionary factions. Kings and monarchs of the reactionary states of the Gulf have been hired out as imperialist agents. Egypt, Turkey and Jordan are purchased as willing slaves. Where money does not work terror, intimidation and open aggression takes its place.

Everything revolves around one single point that the area should continue to maintain an uninterrupted supply line of oil to the imperialists and particularly the US imperialists.

The "evil" and "rogues" are those who dare to oppose or stand up to imperialist domination or may become a potential threat to imperialist interests by acquiring strength and stability.

As far as the states kowtow before the imperialists they are okay even if they are keeping the great majority of their populations in the dark ages and don’t bother about human, democratic or whatever rights which are present in the dictionary of the modern day world. When anyone from among them will start showing signs of "infidelity" to the imperialists these issues will come in handy to prove their "disrespect and criminal negligence" towards the "most rudimentary of human rights and values" and will be easily branded as uncivilized hordes.

The US Attack-dog Israel and the Reactionary Arab States

Their best bet to secure the control of the region is the fascist state of Israel. Most of the other reactionary rulers comply yet every country holds a potential danger if only their poor inhabitants some day decide to collectively kill the rabid dog and push out their respective reactionary rulers from their lands.

Not so compliant have been Libya and Syria, who are now rendered orphans due to the demise of rival Russian Czars but are still governed by the same coteries.

Shah once secured Iran for the imperialists and was the bulwark of reaction in the whole region, but was overthrown by the Islamic revolution and became a threatening sore point.

The imperialists roped in Saddam to teach Islamic rulers and Iranian people a lesson. He acted as a hated lackey of the imperialists and carried on a war of aggression for nine long years against Iran. In the end, Iran stood exhausted and Iraq came out strengthened much to the annoyance of his masters, who had wanted both to weaken and destroy each other. Kissinger, the then US secretary of state lamented, "it is a pity that both of them could not lose."

But the biggest scoundrels of our planet carried on their nefarious games in the Middle East and encouraged Iraq to pounce upon the neighbouring city-state of Kuwait. And then, they themselves intervened in favour of Kuwait telling the world that they were doing so to ‘safeguard’ the sovereignty of a "nation." They lined up 43 reactionary states around the world to back up the aggression on Iraq and thus followed the first notorious US’ Gulf War of 1991.

In spite of the widespread devastation of Iraq and decimation of the Iraqi armed forces, Saddam continued to remain in the saddle and became a sore point in the US and British imperialists’ eyes. That sore point is now the new target of the US’ unending worldwide war on so-called terrorism.

The biggest and most dangerous terrorists and enemies of the people of the world are branding every opposing force as a terrorist one. The evil world empire itself is calling others as evil. Most hateful scoundrels are calling others as rogues.

But there is nothing strange in it. Even Hitler used to brand others as inhumane and undemocratic when he was preparing for his war to trample upon, plunder the world, and ultimately found his grave in a most inglorious way.

The same fate awaits the US imperialists though it might not come as early as it came for the Third Reich, but, and definitely, it is destined to be pushed into its grave as it has earned the enmity of billions of people around the world due to its black and heinous deeds everywhere.

The War And The Arab Governments

The Arab governments are terrified at the prospect of an all out invasion on Iraq by the US. They have unanimously expressed in an Arab league resolution on Iraq that they oppose any attack on Iraq for a regime change.

This time no Arab country is ready to support America openly while in the last war all had stood on the side of the US. They advise America to solve the issue peacefully. But, given their reactionary character and dependence on the US, behind the curtain scenario may be quite different. Though most of them have improved diplomatic relations with Iraq since 1991 yet no one will be standing upright in the face of open US threats. The US has sent the message of "either this or…" to the Arab heads.

If we won’t get a la Musharraf tumbling down shamefully we will see a dead silence, or at the most, meek murmuring, emerging out of the palaces. Syria, which sent its troops to join the 1991 coalition is itself under a grave US threat and has been branded a "rogue". It cannot unite with its Baathist rival in the face of the bigger threat. No Arab government can. No one of them has the moral guts, as lackeys and boot lickers have no morals. They are bound to get further dragged down into shamelessness and submissiveness. This time, even if they don’t participate actively behind the US, it is more likely that they will come under the onslaught of their own subjects if the war drags on long. They privately pray and express the feelings that if the US must attack it should be swift and strong enough that can bring in the desired result quickly.

Though Saddam has called on the Arab leaders to stand as one nation and declare an oil embargo against the US and its allies, this is not going to have any effect on them.

There are reports that "Turkey has agreed to back the United States if it takes military action to topple Saddam Hussein but has asked that Washington write off $5 billion in debt and guarantee that Kurds would not be given an independent state." This is Turkey’s price. What is the price of others in the Arab state-heads-slave-market we shall be knowing soon. Publicly, the Turkish leaders have opposed the US. Wolfowitz, the Pentagon’s No. 2 official who met with top Turkish leaders says, "it won’t be only the people of Iraq who benefit from this, but it would be the whole world, and very much this region ... Turkey stands to benefit enormously." He did not specify the amount and just used the word "enormously". Sufficient for crisis ridden Turkish ruling classes!

Turkey, which was a front base for air attacks on Iraq in 1991, has remained an active launch for intermittent air strikes on Iraq including the Desert Fox operation. All along, it has continued to be a base to the US fighter jets to enforce a no-fly zone over northern Iraq. The Turkish slave rulers, though they publicly say that they "reject aggression on Iraq," yet are shamelessly collaborating with the US.

Iran does not want that US should topple the regime in Iraq though it wants Saddam’s exit. It is afraid that it would be the next target. It detests the US adventure but is unable to solidly stand with Iraq due to its own enmity with it. Of late (August 29), there are reports that the "conservative Islamists" led by Khameini are also trying to woo the US.

Egypt has maintained a calculated silence. It is the biggest recipient of US money after Israel and a trusted agent. Hosni Mubarak prefers to move diplomatically and is preparing to move his forces on the Egyptian masses if they rise up against the US aggression.

Saudi Arabia is terrified of the rising anti-American and anti-Israel and anti-kingdom sentiments among its people that can even expand to threaten the very existence of the Kingdom itself. With the US already stationed on its soil, this threat to royal interests and the US is considered quite dangerous by the Americans. The Saudis are afraid to let Americans use their soil for an attack on Iraq this time. The US is enraged by the Saudi refusal as this is forcing the US to bring in its ocean fleets into the Persian Gulf.

Evil Arguments of the Evil Empire And its Rivals

Nobody from around the world is convinced with any of the US arguments that claim to put Iraq into the target circle. Not even its most trusted lackeys like Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia do openly dare to side with the US logic.

In case of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait they could talk of a "justification" but this time no such thing is there and they are afraid of their own subjects which are already restive due to the US and Israeli crimes in Palestine and are becoming more agitated due to the coming US war on Iraq.

Even other imperialist powers, who lined up behind the US in the 1991 war, are sceptical except the present Blair government in Britain, and are worried of the rising aggressiveness of the US, which is at the same time preparing to push them more into the corner. As the power, which controls the lifelines of the world imperialist economic system, is also the power on whose will others will be forced to turn. This will be true for many of the EU countries.

Even Europe as a whole is far behind the US in armed and economic might where the thirteen biggest powers of the EU combined, only make up to half of the US military machine alone.

With such a great gap, they cannot oppose the US actively and can only look ‘helplessly’ and in the end can only come to support it to extract some crumbs from the US oil giants that will be controlling the huge Iraqi oil resources lest something "out of the way" happens and the whole of Middle East rises up against the US and their own governments in case the war gets prolonged and also turns nuclear. Both of these "dangers" are real this time.

If victorious, the US "victors" will be dictating terms to the European imperialists even, with massive oil resources in their grip.

The European powers are only uttering mild criticism of the US policy towards Iraq. The US warmongers are of the opinion that the "Europeans will fall in line" as they had to do in the case of Afghanistan.

In Afghanistan after initial opposition, the European nations, including France and Germany (and many of the NATO countries though the NATO did not send its forces "officially"), sent 6000 troops while the US had 7000.

Whatever opposition the various EU powers, including France and Germany, are airing is due to the fact that they have developed close relations with Iraq despite all these years of economic sanctions and don’t want their equation with it to be destabilized.

Yet they are unable to stop the US, which is bent upon unseating Saddam, and install a puppet, so having no alternative than to look helplessly and let the US play its dirty "great game" in the Middle East.

The "lesser" evil powers, had they had the capacity to stall the US and replace it in the Middle East, would themselves have taken up the role of the US imperialists in intimidating Iraq and its people. But presently they are forced to eat humble pie.

The German Chancellor Schroeder has said, "I think that if there is military intervention, we should be cautious. That means that Germany will not take part" in any US-led action against Iraq. Not opposition, but "not to support" are the words. Similar is the situation of the French imperialists. The Blair government is already more than enthusiastic despite some voices of opposition within the reactionary sections of imperialist politicians.

All support the "war on terrorism" and all say, "Saddam is an evil," and only plead in the murmuring that there is no proof that Iraq has any links with September 11 or the al-Qaeda.

This is nothing more than appeasing the US imperialists over Iraq despite the fact that they had tried to ease (and not do away with them altogether) economic sanctions on Iraq for their own economic gains. They only remain "cautious" and after remaining on the side lines for a time follow the US. For them the US arguments are "unconvincing," or the US action should be "decided through the auspices of the UN."

Hitting First: the Pre-emptive Factor

Bush: "If we wait for threats to fully materialize, we will have waited too long."

Condoleezza Rice: "It means forestalling certain destructive acts against you by an adversary."

"The subject of formalizing a strategy of pre-emptive action — including military attack — has come up repeatedly at the meetings of Mr. Bush’s top national security aides, held three times a week.

"The US reserves the right to determine what constitutes a threat to American security and to act even if that threat is not judged imminent.

"Add ‘preemption’ and ‘defensive intervention’ as formal options for striking at hostile nations or groups that appear determined to use weapons of mass destruction against the United States.

"The nature of the enemy has changed, the nature of the threat has changed, and so the response has to change.

"There are some bunkers that are ‘so incredibly hard that they do require high-yield nuclear weapons.’

"‘I think the president is trying to get the American people ready for some kind of preemptive move’ against Iraq, said a Pentagon consultant. He said it would not necessarily be against Iraqi weapons sites but might instead involve a seizure of Iraqi oil fields.

"Rumsfeld when asked in an interview whether the U.S. government is contemplating preemptive moves against other nations’ weapons of mass destruction, he replied: ‘Why would anyone answer that question if they were contemplating it?’"

These are some clippings from the US newspapers that show the thinking of US rulers. "Hitting first" is the new mantra for post ‘cold war’ world and point to the turbulent times ahead. The US imperialists want to strike at will by trampling upon all international laws. It is clear that they are not ready to listen to any one. First they said they want inspectors to return to Iraq and when Iraq accepted that condition they said, "No, we want a regime change." Later, when Iraq refused inspectors, they said that Saddam is adamant.

They want the change in Iraq at any cost. Though the US is getting isolated internationally and powers like Russia, despite coming closer to the NATO pact, are offering some resistance by striking new deals with Iraq, it is hell bent on retaining the first strike option.

Without this option, the US cannot continue its "global war" on ‘terrorism.’ They are continuing the policy of "keeping the enemy guessing" with many ambiguities in their statements, because the factor of surprise is a part of "preemption" and "striking first." Powell particularly stresses on this aspect to retain the initiative in US hands. He says that they must avoid another Vietnam or Lebanon.

The UN Plays the Second Fiddle

The European powers know well that the US cares a hoot for the UN; and the UN, including its secretary general, just grins and repeats the US line with a jugglery of words. They know that the US is determined to over-rule any UN resolution, if it ever comes, and will "go-it-alone", unilaterally embarking on war, and they won’t be able to stop it.

The imperialist "big powers" only tend to act when some indignant and poor third world country refuses to care for the UN resolutions and not when a super power like the US or its attack dog Israel violate them wantonly.

This is the New World Order and the World Body (the UN) under the domination of the biggest gangster.

The likes of France and Germany only want to register their resentment in the UN and have no power to hold back the US scoundrels. With the EU not yet fully evolved into another single powerful political and military empire of parallel gangsters, the US carries its will unilaterally.

At the time of the last war on Iraq, the UN just kept quiet and endorsed the US after it was well into its high tech aggression.

This time again, the secretary general Kofi Annan has commented upon Saddam’s address to the nation in a way that endorsed the US thinking. Saddam Hussain had warned that a US aggression would be met with bloody consequences and the attacking forces would be "buried in their own coffins with their sick dreams."

Annan said, "At this stage it seems as if they are not giving in an inch, but I think we are at early stages yet."

He has specifically stressed on the word "an inch" well knowing that for seven long years the US led UN (sic) forces have combed every inch of Iraq in quest of the "weapons of mass destruction." He also knows that at the end of these searches the inspectors had reported that they had destroyed 95 percent of Iraq’s weapon’s program.

No doubt, at the next stage he will say that Saddam was an evil and had to go and ‘now it is the time for rebuilding Iraq.’ Just as he had called for "helping Afghanistan" after the US devastated it.

He also criticised Iraq for not obliging its commitments towards the UN calling such behaviour on the part of Iraq "not new." Such is the slavish behaviour of the UN secretary general towards the US that he lies deliberately.

All the Iraqi oil sales are in the hands of the UN. The UN had given the right to Iraq to exchanging oil for food and medicines after thoroughly discussing that Iraq was cooperating well with the UN arms inspectors and other agencies.

The majority in the Security Council was of the opinion that sanctions should forego as Iraq has completed its obligations. Only the US and Britain were adamant.

Iraq had only refused further inspections after seven years when the chief of the mission reported that their work was over. He had also reported that the inspectors were spying on Iraq under the garb of inspections at the bidding of the US.

One of the chiefs of the food aid mission had even resigned on the score that sanctions were playing havoc with the lives of the people in Iraq and these have nothing to do with Saddam Hussain.

Annan knows all these facts and must not have forgotten the "price theory" of Madam Albright who had laughed at the death of a million children due to sanctions saying the gains in Iraq were "worth the price."

Annan made these comments after the White House responded to Saddam’s statement saying that all options were on the table and demanded that Iraq comply with UN weapons inspectors. White House spokesperson Scott McClellan had said, "The Iraqi government needs to comply with the responsibilities it agreed to at the end of the Gulf War."

And Annan shamelessly repeated the charge that Saddam was not giving an inch.

When we say that the logic of US imperialists, and all the imperialists and their hirelings like Annan at that, is a criminal logic there is more to it than meets the eye. It is simplistic to say that let the UN decide over it if Iraq is to be attacked, as the French and German imperialists say. Is it merely a question of providing legitimacy to an act?

What if the UN Security Council decides that Iraq should be attacked and its regime changed? Will it impart justification to the immense crime and make it a case of justice?

Still not, and never.

This is the task of the Iraqi people to decide whether they want Saddam or not. And not of the US or other imperialist powers, and neither of the coterie of so-called Iraqi nationalist forces who assemble in Washington and New York and demand that Saddam be dethroned as per "the wishes of the Iraqi people."

The renegades do not represent the Iraqi people, they are hired out agents of the US waiting for their turn to rule Iraq as Hamid Karzais.

Who does not know that the US and other imperialist powers have been imposing their lackeys over different countries through all kinds of coups, palace revolts, military putsches, assassinations of presidents and prime ministers and if everything fails, throu-gh pseudo liberation forces as was done in Nicaragua.

The US is the Past Master In Enthroning its Own Agents

Nobody can forget Lon Nol, Suharto, Marcos and numerous others. And nobody can forget the assassinations of Mossadeg, Lumumba, Allende and equally numerous others.

Everywhere the imperialists carried on their criminal deeds to force their will over other countries through blatant and covert operations.

The UN never punished the perpetrators then and the UN can never stop these acts now, because the forces that rule the World Order wish it, because they carry out these acts.

The most recent example to enact a coup and pull down an elected leader has been that of the Venezuelan president who the CIA’s hired agents overthrew in April 2002. Though president Hugo Chavez managed to overwhelm and retake the reins after three days again yet no Security Council decided to punish the US for its overt role in the Venezuelan coup.

A bush Full of Lies

And let us not forget the naked violations of the international body and law by the US patronized Israeli fascists. No world forum decides to send in armies and enact a regime change there. And the US talks of regime change in the PA calling for the head of Arafat openly. Yes, if even the UN does not "pass" a decision at the behest of US to change Saddam the US is ready to launch aggression in violation of "world opinion."

When Bush says that the whole world wants Saddam to go he knows that all his father’s ex-collaborators are silent and not for launching any war on Iraq. No state in the gulf has dared to support the US this time. Even Turkey, which was heavily used in the previous war as a military base and has been routinely used afterwards to impose no-fly zones in the north and south of Iraq, drags its feet when the question comes of openly siding with the US.

Bush’s gangster logic does not stop to think that the EU does not support him; countries of the Gulf Command Council (of six countries around the gulf region, including Kuwait) has long dissociated from US and British routine bombing raids; Saudi Arabia and other US allies are not supporting, the Arab League has unanimously passed a resolution against any new war on Iraq. But the sadistic killer says, "The whole world wants it."

Bush and his administration say, "the sanctions have not worked on Iraq."

In their opinion, had they worked, there would have been revolts and coups in Iraq, and he must have been overthrown by now by his own people. So, their conclusion is that the sanctions have not worked.

Due to the sanctions the whole of the socio-economic infrastructure of the society has suffered colossally; whatever industrial base Iraq had has collapsed in these eleven years of quarantine; its health, education, social welfare facility structures are in shambles; more than 1.5 million people have been killed, a majority of them being children; the US and Britain have occasionally bombarded the Iraqi cities for eleven years running in the name of forcing Saddam to abide by the UN resolutions.

The whole world, including the EU countries, Russia, China and dozens of backward countries have sent in plane loads of goods, medicines, food stuffs and gifts to show their solidarity with Iraq presuming that Iraq has done more than the UN demanded of it, and thus, protested against sanctions by this act of solidarity indicating that the unjustified sanctions be lifted. Still, the US says that the sanctions have not worked.

The problem with the king of the world is that Saddam is still there and this irks him. This irks him because the world is ready to deal with Saddam to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars every year without the interference of Uncle Sam.

Russia, France China, Germany and many of the big companies of Britain have struck or are willing to strike deals with Iraq. This challenges the authority of the big master and frustrates its plans for dominating the world, which it cannot tolerate.

Unmatched in its fire power and economic strength it is out to impose its will on the world by attacking Iraq.

This, in fact, is meant to threaten and intimidate the whole world. To threaten the people and the states alike and to secure the rights over Iraqi oil resources.

It has told the world leaders to get ready to deal with it, through it, for the Iraqi oil and has offered "lucrative" contracts to Germany, France, Russia and China just to get them in line behind him and scrape their own contracts with Iraq. And knowing that they are not willing to support, it has decided to go-it-alone, unilaterally, without caring for anyone and anything.

The US has made the decision that in the present world economic crisis investing on the military is the best option and only this can ensure its domination and hefty returns.

It rabidy and constantly harps on the "weapons of mass destruction" (WMD) subterfuges to justify its attack and exhausts itself in a boorish propaganda of lies.

Why the US Did Not Sign the Agreement on The

International Criminal Court?

The heading itself suggests the answer. Would a criminal want to give jurisdiction to a court over him? The US knows that its open-ended war against the so-called terrorism cannot be carried on without committing "crimes against humanity" (if we are to borrow from their own cherished terminology). It has declared that its armies involved in Bosnia, Afghanistan or anywhere else will not fall under the jurisdiction of international law; that they are accountable to the laws only. The power that calls on every other nation to be accountable, flagrantly declares not to abide by any international law. Can there be any other example of gangster logic?

When one nation is out to trample on other nations, it is bound to violate all international laws. That is what the US is doing. It has refused to recognise the prisoners of war as POWs. One day we will hear that the US used these prisoners as guinea pigs and experimented on them in all savagery using chemicals and germs, and sadistic methods of torture.

For the US the Guantanamo Bay Prisoners "are criminals and not prisoners"; presidents and prime ministers of "hostile" nations are wanted men and must be extradited to the US to stand in the US Courts of ‘Justice’; wherever the people fight against US interests, the governments there must behave as good governors of the US Administration; the governments world over must hand over men whom the US wants; the nations should only make those armaments that the US allows, while it has every right to make and develop any kind of WMDs; everyone on this earth is accountable to the US but the US is to none.!.!.

So, why the US should sign any new agreement that it knows it is going to violate. And it is better to come out of previous world treaties that bind it in any way.

NMD required the abrogation of 1972 ABM Treaty, so it withdrew (nay, trampled it) unilaterally. Those were the days of the ‘cold war’, now the world objectivity needs hot wars. So, the flagrant violation of the international laws is the need of the day. For the US imperialists the US senate is the world senate, their word is the only law, like the word of God that comes through the mouth of the King. Of course, the US considers itself the King of the World.

And they say, Fascism died with Hitler!!! Yes, but No.

IT lives through the ‘great US democracy’, the heart of the ‘Free World.’

The US butchers want to be exempted from their war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The Prime Destroyer Talks of WMDs

The US talk of Iraq having WMD and BCN (biological, chemical and nuclear) weapons and their delivery mechanism through missiles, is another white lie that no body believes. The inspectors have destroyed any such capacity and it will take a long long time for Iraq to rebuild its facilities. But one should not argue from the standpoint that Iraq does not have these things, and so, there is no justification in attacking it on this score.

When imperialist sharks dominate the world, every poor and weak nation on the planet has the right to defend itself with whatever armaments it can produce or acquire.

The US, which is the biggest producer and stockpiler of these weapons and their delivery systems, has no right to dictate to others to not produce them. It threatens the world on the basis of its gigantic military machine and wants to thwart any scope for a counter-attack. This is another example of gangster logic.

It declared its right to produce and further develop these weapons while it preached to the world that the New World Order would be of peace, progress and stability. In such a world order, you will not have the necessity of such destructive things.

This is only possible under a world of socialism where no nation will ever trample upon the other to exploit and intimidate. But the present world based on loot, plunder and exploitation of other nations and of man by man cannot have peace and stability and real progress.

The US imperialist marauders impose such regimes on others while they themselves refuse to sign and endorse the concerned treaties.

The CTBT, the chemical and biological weapons regime, the agreement on the international criminal court, the Kyoto protocol, and many such others that can be used against it in its criminal campaign to control the world. The US knows their repercussions. So, it adamantly refuses to sign.

The greatest and bloodiest power on earth can destroy the whole planet a number of times with its arsenals of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction and still has the nerve to sermonise others on WMD and BCN.

Such rogue behaviour can only arouse further the people of the world against this world warlord, make it more vulnerable worldwide, and right in its own den. It is also afraid of its own people and has showered draconian laws over them.

As Hitler was not only the enemy of the world people but of the Germans too, similar is the case of the US warlords.

Again, Foot Soldiers and Pawn Politicians

After Afghanistan, the next edition of foot soldiers is in the making for Iraq. There is no dearth of leaders in the ex-colonies who look to the imperialists for "help" to "liberate" themselves, and of renegades who are ready to fight for the imperialists. Saddam, on his part, has earned many enemies on the home soil by denying them rights, especially to Shiite Muslims in the South and the right to self determination to Kurds in the North.

On August 10, The Washington Times reported on a meeting of six Iraqi dissident groups held in the premises of the State Department. The meeting attended by the Iraqi opposition leaders included Ahmad Chalabi of the Iraqi National Congress, Jalal Talabani of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Hoshyar Zebari of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Sharif Ali bin Hussein of the Constitutional Monarchy Movement, Iyad Allawi of the Iraqi National Accord and Hamid al Bayati of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq. Bayati’s delegation travelled from Iran. It is an indication that Irani Islamic regime is rea-dying itself to quietly endorse the Bush administration to save its own skin.

After meeting with under-secretary of State Marc Grossman and undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith, the dissident Iraqi leaders issu-ed a statement saying that they have "agreed to work for the overthrow of the dictatorial regime in Iraq."

These so-called liberators asked the US killers "for the protection of all Iraqi people under U.N. resolutions."

Mr. Bayati’s group, Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, primarily represents the Shi’ites in southern Iraq and want to set up a Shiite regime in Iraq on the lines of Islamic revolution in Iran or break away from Iraq to merge with Iran. But it is an irony that while the Shiite Islamic revolution in Iran was anti-US the Iraqi Shiite Islamists are seeking the US help. This group, based in Iran, says it has 10,000 armed fighters (read foot soldiers) ready to take on Saddam in case the US launches war on Iraq. These Iraqi opposition leaders decided to summon a conference of all Iraqi opposition groups to help throw out Saddam and "capture" power in Iraq as the Northern Alliance did in Afghanistan. The Washington Post said, "The meeting sought to revive U.S. cooperation with the splintered opposition movement."

These groups also fear that they might be abandoned by the US. Mohammed Sabir Ismail of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan asks, "The question is, are the Americans serious?" He wants an aggression that would not go half way as in 1991. The pawns are more enthusiastic than the King to do his bidding.

Another shameful thing he said concerns the Palestinian resistance movement. Mr. Ismail said, "For us, Iraq is important — the Iraqi people suffer too much." It does not matter, Washington Post says of him, whether the "Palestinian-Israeli conflict" is settled or not before removing Saddam.

These leaders, who swear by the cause of liberation of the people, are to coordinate strategy with the US to oust Saddam Hussein. In September they are meeting in Amsterdem to form a government in exile to take power after Saddam is overthrown by the US armies.

On the other hand, the US and British imperialists are organising dissident Iraqis in Europe and Britain. These hired out dissidents are offering the US imperialists 2,00,000 foot soldiers of Iraqi origin to fight along with the US troops in the event of war. A former Major General of Iraqi army, Tawfiq al-Yassiri who is settled in Britain, is spearheading the recruitment drive for this purpose.

The US needs such hirelings who can impart a "people’s wish" to the criminal US plans in the Middle East. It does not matter whether the number is 2,00,000 or 2,000. Foot soldiers are foot soldiers and they will be an handy instrument for the imperialists to perpetrate more crimes against the Iraqi people, who have already suffered greatly at the hands of the US.

International Brigand Talks of ‘National Interests’

When it talks of its "national interests" in far off lands lying thousands of kilometers away these are "its" economic ‘rights’ over the resources of other peoples, its economic and military installations, and paraphernalia of officers, bureaucrats and experts that work to maintain these interests.

Any big crime on the part of the US can lead to massive upsurges, outrage and fury among the people worldwide and provoke them to destroy these installations of terror and exploitation. The US has gained the position of the biggest exploiter and gang lord in the world, and hence, has become the biggest enemy of the people.

The US chieftain, Bush junior, is out to carry out the criminal task left by his father, Bush senior. Bush and his corporate house backers are ‘the world’ and they need an unhindered access to the gulf oil for which they first want Saddam to go and then many others.

Indications are there that the US is planning even to take on the reactionary kingdom of Saudi Arabia, if it grumbles much and does not stand on the side of the US. A case is already being prepared for that.

For the US, imperialist interests of loot and plunder are paramount and nothing should stand in their way. What "friendships," what "historic ties," and what "common interests"!

Everything is garbage when it comes to establishing unchallenged domination over the world.

Remember the gun pointed to the head of Musharraf and his fate at the time of launching of war on Afghanistan! And Saddam and Iraq are not going to be killed and destroyed alone. No one can predict that how things will go in each and every step.

Even Saudi Arabia and Egypt cannot be ruled out after Iran, Syria and Libya. The US butchers are on the prowl, on a worldwide extermination campaign, an open ended long war, which in their words, "will run into many years." For them no other logic stands and only the gangster imperialist logic rules.

In the coming months or even weeks, the world is going to be plunged into a boil. The deserts of Iraq and the great ancient land of Mesopotamia, a beautiful land tucked between two great rivers of Dajla and Faraat (called Tigris and Euphrates in Greek) is going to be put under a crushing iron heel by the biggest butchers that history has ever known.

Two hundred thousand US armed devils are already in the region and a fifty thousand more are to join in the dance of death and destruction.

The mighty US death machine is being readied to hail fire, depleted uranium bombs, chemical and biological weapons, smart uranium bombs and even heavy nuclear bombs on the people of Iraq. They have declared that they rule out nothing to enforce a regime change in Iraq.

They are contemplating to seize Baghdad and other major cities with massive assaults from the ground and air. This means the loss of life and destruction will be immense and unprecedented.

This is bound to arouse the world people and the people of the Middle East in particular on an unprecedented scale against the US imperialists and their hired lackeys.

For the imperialists the target is not only Saddam Hussain but also the people of the whole region themselves who are already seething with rage due to the Zionist butchery in Palestine.

The opposition to aggression on Iraq is bound to increase by the day and hour as the time approaches the flashpoint. This can even see many a head rolling in the Middle East as the people there are fed up of their ruler’s slavish behaviour towards the US imperialists.

There are possibilities that a great wave of people’s movement of revolt and rebellion can engulf the vast Arab world, and it must.

Every act of war of the US imperialist mass murderers will only isolate them further and further from the world people and will make them face the ire of the people throughout.

In such historic times, people in all lands must build up a strong anti-war movement that needs to be converted into powerful rebellions and revolutions. The horrible future, which the evil forces of reaction tend to put on the heads of the people, must be resisted with all means.

In our own country all sections of people who oppose the US war of aggression must come forward to build a powerful united mass movement and draw evermore multitudes of people on to the streets to oppose the US and our own rulers.

We must keep in mind that during the 1991 war the Indian reactionary state helped the US war machine by secretly providing refueling facilities to it. This time they may do so in a more blatant way and in many other respects.

We must oppose and thwart any such moves on the part of our rulers and demand that India keep out of the US war alliance against the so-called war on terrorism, as this war, in reality, is a war against the people.
