PRESS STATEMENT OF CPN (MAOIST)

The Deuba government has dared to impose medieval autocracy against the Nepalese people as per the plans of such criminals as Gyanendra and Paras Shah, the ringleaders of the palace massacre. Following in the footsteps of the feudal royal murderers in concealing their crimes through plain lies, now the Deuba clique is surpassing all limits in its disinformation campaign against our Party and the great People’s War. Deuba, as the meek servant of the feudal murderer Gyanendra clique that has lost its senses after the historic victory of the brave fighters of the People’s Liberation Army over it, has resorted to the brutal and cowardly massacre of the innocent and unarmed poor peasants in Dang and the general masses of people gathered for a traditional fair in Sallyan by the royal army, and has made false propaganda of having killed the Maoist fighters in encounters. Similarly they have arrested open political activists, journalists and sympathisers in the urban areas and are making a big noise about having captured and killed front-ranking leaders. All this proves their hypocratic and defeated mentality. This is a clear sign of the initial failure of the royal army mobilisation. The dream of the Gyanendra clique to prolong its feudal autocratic rule through massacre of the people and a disinformation campaign under the cover of the so-called state of emergency, will never materialise. Our Party and the great Nepalese people have taken note of all those speaking and writing in favour of the feudal murderers and conducting criminal activities against the people, and all those criminals will be dealt with properly in course of time. No body can stop these atrocities of the feudal murderers and plunderers against the Nepalese people from turning into the ultimate cause of their own total destruction. Our Party makes an hearty appeal with all sincerity to all the democratic forces to march forward patiently and steadfastly to build a new Nepal by creating higher records of dedication and sacrifices in this great process of revolution.

However torturous the path may be, the victory of the people is inevitable.

December 3, 2001. Prachanda

Chairman, CPN (Maoist)
